When do I start the program I selected?
You can choose from several start dates per year for online programs at Concordia University, Nebraska. To find the start date that works for you, call 877-497-5848 to speak to an admissions advisor.

How much time will I need for classes?
Online students spend an average of 15 to 20 hours a week per class on coursework. You may find you’ll need less or more, depending on your study habits and other life commitments.

My schedule changes week to week. How will that affect class time?
It won’t. You can log on to Concordia’s online classes at any time: late at night, early in the morning, or midday. As long as you meet the weekly assignment deadlines, you can work whenever and wherever you want.

Do the online programs require a campus residency?
No. You can access programs wherever you live as long as you have a high-speed Internet connection. Our Master of Public Health* degree program includes an optional opportunity to take one face-to-face elective in which students travel for a one-week mission trip. All core courses and other specialization courses are 100% online.

I’m not a religious person. I don’t know if I’d be comfortable here.
We don’t hide who we are at Concordia, which was founded by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1894 Concordia has welcomed all students seeking lives of learning, service and leadership into its supportive community of excellent Christian education. Our students come from a diversity of experiences and perspectives. What they share is a passion for learning and a desire for a profession with purpose.

I’m not a kid anymore. Will I feel out of place?
Not at all. In this economy, many working adults are returning to school after spending many years in a previous career. It is likely that some of your classmates will be younger than you, some will be the same age as you and some will be older than you. This diversity of age and experience enriches the educational experience for all.

Will my online education be of the same quality as a campus education?
Yes. You’ll find the online curriculum to be as rigorous and rewarding as our on-campus curriculum, both of which are taught by highly accomplished Concordia faculty. You’ll be energized and engaged by robust online chats. You’ll receive the same diploma that our campus students receive. There is a major difference, though: no time spent commuting, rent spent for campus housing or money poured into the gas pump!

What kind of advisory support will I get?
Supporting our students is a top priority, starting with the admissions advisor who will guide you through admissions and enrollment. Concordia student services counselors are dedicated to providing support and guidance to students, and will regularly touch base with you. At Concordia we’re proud of our faculty members’ responsiveness to student questions and concerns.

What about technical support?
Our Personal Support Center (PSC) is available 24/7 to answer your questions and provide technical support to help solve computer issues.

What computer hardware and software will I need?
See the Online Learning Details page for details on technical requirements.

Is financial aid available?
Yes, aid is available for those who qualify. Go to our Financial Aid page for details.

Is Concordia University, Nebraska accredited?
Yes. Concordia University, Nebraska is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL 60604; 800-621-7440).
